Soft & Smooth Skin With St.Ives

When I hear the brand name St.Ives my mind instantly goes to their Apricot Face Scrub. I’ve been using this scrub since I was a teen and loving every moment of it. Up until this past year, it was the only face scrub I had ever used and after testing out several, it’s still my go to! St. Ives makes much more than just a fabulous face scrub and I had the honor of trying out a few great face and body products from the brand!

The St. Ives brands covers me from my feet (with extra moisturizing lotions and balms) to my face (with scrubs and cleansers) and every inch of skin in between. St. Ives products are powered by nature meaning they are all natural (with no “added extras” that are unnecessary) and made with sustainable ingredients whenever possible. These products are also free of sulfates and phthalates and have eco-friendly packaging (using PCR, post consumer resin). Can I get a show of hands of who already knew these things? Because I sure didn’t! Aside from creating a face scrub that, in my opinion, has a near cult following, it sounds like St. Ives is always putting it’s customers and the planet first. That’s something I can always be a fan of!

DSCN8023The first duo of products are probably familiar to you all. This is the Apricot Cleanser and the Apricot Scrub. Like I mentioned before, these products have been a staple in my bathroom for a VERY long time. Each of these is hypoallergenic and oil free making them gentle and I’ve yet to meet a single person who said “Those break me out.” Quite the opposite. I’ve heard many stories of people clearing up years of troubled skin after discovering these products. I’m happy to report that I’ve never struggled with acne, BUT I’ve been using St. Ives Apricot Scrub for nearly 10 years. Coincidence? I think not! While these products both contain Apricot, they are both very different. I use the cleanser daily. It’s super gently, has a fresh clean scent and easily removes dirt, oil and makeup from my skin. I’ve got an oily complexion so the Salicylic Acid in this does a great job of drying up my oily zones that could easily become clogged pores. The bottle recommends using this 3-4 times a day. If you’re on the drier side, I REALLY recommend sticking to that. I have no problems using it daily with my oily self 😛

For the Apricot Scrub, I stick to the 3-4 times a week more strictly! This is a mild to moderately (depending on the sensitivity of your skin) abrasive scrub so you want to take it slowly. This scrub leaves my skin feeling baby soft and if you’ve got combination skin or dry patches (which I sometimes get in certain areas) this will clear those up in ONE use. Like the cleanser, this comes in a light clean scent. I have to say if you have yet to try this product, pick up a travel size at your local drug store or supermarket. It will run you about $1 and change how you view skin care forever.

DSCN8024Also in the realm of exfoliation, I got to try these Exfoliating Pads. I’d never seen this product by St. Ives before, but let me tell you- these are wonderful! They are gentle enough to be used everyday and because they are pads, I don’t have to remember it while I’m in the shower or make a mess at the sink. I just do this quick step after I get out and before I do my makeup. With these pads, you don’t have to scrub your face at all. They are super gently and just require a little swipe. While I still would say the Apricot Scrubs gets the job done a little more, these are great if you’re just trying to maintain OR if it’s winter and you just need a daily exfoliation. Like ME! These smell super fruity like citrus and acai berries…I think. I could eat them…but I won’t!

DSCN8021Lastly, I tried some St. Ives body lotions. These JUMBO 21oz pump bottles are the way to go if you’re needing some serious skin moisture. The price is insane (I’ve seen these as low as $5!) and the product inside is worth WAY more than you’re paying. I tried the Hydrating Vitamin E lotion and the Intensive Healing lotion. The Hydrating Vitamin E lotion is perfect for everyday lotion. It leaves your skin feeling hydrated and well taken care off. I love that neither of these leave you looking like you just rolled around in some crisco. (You all know what I’m talking about!!) They leave your skin feeling silky and non-greasy which is a big A+++ in my book. I actually shy away from lotion A LOT because I’m so turned off by oily or greasy feeling formulas! Thank Goodness for St. Ives! My favorite of the two was definitely the Intensive healing. Why? Because I’ve been shying away from lotions! Didn’t you read that part?! My skin is SOOO in need of some healing. Plus, my sweet husband rubbed my feel for three days straight with this magical stuff and they feel super smooth. (Note: I am a barefoot in the kitchen, with a baby on my hip type of mama! Good luck trying to get me to wear shoes! My feet pay the price!) I’ll be getting more of this stuff when I’m out!

Overall, St. Ives already had my love and attention but after reading about their Natural Philosophy and trying a few new-to-me products, I have to say I’m ready to get hitched. Plus, the price point is SO insanely reasonable. You could get any of these goodies for under $10. It almost feels like stealing 🙂

What’s your favorite St.Ives Natural product?
