I’ll let you all in on a little secret. Most of the products you see on The Rosy Snail are sent to me for consideration. I don’t have to love them but when I do love a product, I write a nice review letting you all know. This isn’t the case with Ipsy. I pay my $10 a month for their beauty bag just like everyone else. I’m coming up on having been subscribed for a year now and I have not once had a month where I regretted the purchase. For $10, there is no way I could get my hands on 5 deluxe beauty samples any other way. While products don’t always work for me or aren’t always my favorites, I still love the treat in the mail every month and Ipsy is by far my favorite subscription I receive. There, my secret’s out 😉
As you can see, this months bag was covered in Anchors. I happen to LOVE anchors so this bag is my favorite I’ve received by far! These bags are custom made for Ipsy (by Ipsy? I’m not completely sure) and fit the month’s theme. This month’s theme is The Great Escape…you know, like an amazing Vacation.
First thing I pulled out is a 1oz sample of Juice Beauty Hydrating mist. While I lot of these mists tend to be oily, this is meant as more of a toner so I’m really happy for this. I love Juice Beauty and I haven’t tried this one just yet. The smell is a bit medicinal but that doesn’t put me off when it’s such a great brand. This product is certified organic as well. This sample is worth $3.26
We also got a new product from LA Fresh. This is an 8 pack of their new Travel Lite Makeup Remover Wipes. I’m a BIG fan of LA Fresh and one of their favorite products happen to be their makeup remover wipes so I’m happy to try this and anticipate purchasing more when I’m done with these. This pack retails for $1.99
This product was one I’m REALLY, REALLY excited for. I’m really loving the build-your-own palette craze but this adorable packet size one is really the cherry on top. This is just about the size of a credit card and fits in your palm. That makes this ideal for travel and in my opinion, a little more travel friendly than the larger ones. The Glam RX regular palette retails for $16.50 BUT normally comes with two layers: this magnetic place and a top layer of cosmetics so I’ll call this a value of $8.25 since we got half 😉
Lastly, we received two eyeshadow colors from Yaby. I’ve never tried this brand but I always see it listen on the sites of companies that make magnetic palettes because they come in pan form, pre-labeled are just ready to pop in and go. These retail for $3.15 each and are fairly smooth and true to color.
Overall, the value of my Ipsy bag is $19.80 which is nearly doubled what I paid. What’s more than that is I got to try all new (to me) products and discover two brands that I wasn’t aware of but now really enjoy! Ipsy is more than a sampling service for me, it’s an affordable way to really discover the beauty world!
