Ipsy January 2017

One of the subscription services I re-joined this year was Ipsy. If you aren’t familiar with Ipsy, it’s $10 a month and you receive 5 deluxe and full size beauty items. You do fill out a profile and your bag is suppose to be customized to you. There are normally MANY different product options being sent out each month so my biggest complaint is usually that I saw a sneak peek and had my eyes on a product that I didn’t receive. That being said, it’s normally a great value so I can’t complain. Let’s see what this month’s bag is all about!

Every month, you do receive a glam bag with your delivery. I admit they’re really fun to collect and I find myself filling my backpack and handbags with them for all kinds of odds and ends. I make them into period emergency kits, first aid kits, lipstick storage- you name it. This month’s bag is a metallic blue with wholes cut out over a solid silver fabric. Super cute.

Inside the actually inside the bubble mailer because these beauties didn’t fit inside the beautiful bag. From the brand Loverecipe, I received two sheet masks. There is one in AcaiBerry for skin radiance and firming and an Aloe mask for moisturizing and soothing. I haven’t used these yet but I love Korean skin care and sheet masks and these are two great mask types for my skin. These retails for $1.50 each making this duo worth $3. This did count as only one of my items so I really felt like this was a bonus regardless of the “low value.” The personal value for me was worth it.

Next was this Manna Kadar 3-in-1 Blush Highlighter Eyeshadow in the shade “Fantasy” I love this brand. My initial reaction (thinking it was just an eyeshadow) was that I have a million of this color then I looked in my single shadows and realize that I, in fact, have this. I received this in a Beauty Box 5 last year and fell in love. The big difference was the packaging. I really hate to bash on this product but this new packaging (replacing a beautiful, well made screw on lidded packaging) is horrible. I absolutely mangle my nail polish every time I open this. I will have to depot this in order to ever use it because I love my manicure too much. For $19, I would ONLY repurchase this if they went back to the old packaging. Lucky, you can still get that packaging on the BB5 website.
I like this product best as a highlight- it shows up much, much lighter on the skin than it looks in the man and it’s got a creamy, rich consistency.

I also received this beautiful Model Co. Blush in Peach Bellini. I like a lot about this product. This is a great size, not full size, but I wouldn’t know that if I didn’t look up the product information. This is 3.5g making it worth $8.25. I thought this had great packaging (super easy to open!), had a great color pay off, looked great on and is long lasting. This actually looks really beautiful as the above product as a highlight. I will probably repurchase this once I use it all.

I also received a full size SLMissGlam Blend Beauty Brush L34. This says Ipsy on it so I’m going to assume it was made just for the Ipsy subscription. I similar brush on their site retails for $13.50. This is a super pretty brush, I love the color and the rhinestone details. It’s not the softest brush I’ve ever used in my life, but it gets the job done and I might check out other products from the brand.

Lastly, in full flash, I received a full size polish by F.U.N. Lacquer in “TGIF”. I am so in love. I’m dying. I’m dead. I want to crawl inside this bottle and live. These retail for $11.50 and I can’t wait to purchase more! Be on the look out for an obnoxious number of nail pictures on my instagram very soon.

The value of my bag this month is $55.25 which is fabulous and about what I’ve come to expect from Ipsy (between $40-$60 value) I like to variety of items I got and these are ALL items I’m excited to move into my beauty rotation. What did you get this month?
