GLOW for a Cause: love. give. glow

If you’re a BoxyCharm subscriber, there is a chance than you recently heard of this company! GLOW for a Cause body butters popped up in Boxycharm boxes all over the country in January and people had some amazing things to to say about them! I wasn’t among the lucky ones who received the body butter, but I got an email asking if I wanted to try out a product and I jumped at the opportunity! I thought I’d show you this stunning solid perfume and give you a few other Valentine’s Day gift ideas from this amazing company! For other Valentine’s Day posts, check out the Valentine’s Day Tab on my main page!

The first thing I did was a little reading on this company. I’m drawn in by their sleek, classically simple packaging but I quickly found out there is more to this brand than meets the eye. For example, 5% of your purchase goes back to one of the many non-profit organizations they work with. You can read the full list here but there is everything from cancer to tutoring children. I love that there is a little bit of charitable giving for everyone.

These products are also extremely pure. Everything in the ingredients list is easy to pronounce. For example, this solid perfume in Inspire is made of: coconut oil, beeswax, organic shea butter, organic cocoa butter, vitamin E and GLOW’s signature perfume blends. You can also get a vegan version (sans beeswax).

This solid perfume comes in a .4oz container and retails for just $16. It’s about the price and a little larger than a  roller ball, but I find that both because it’s a balm (and pure, so free of other add ins) the scent lasts a long time and is just the right amount of strong. I received the scent “Inspire” which is a youthful floral with just a little bit of citrus. I love the combination because it keeps the scent bright instead of musky.

If I had to pick out one thing that I don’t love it would have to be that the container is in a 1″ diameter container. With my long nails, it’s hard to get just my finger down into the container and I don’t want to dig my nail in the pot (that would be messy and too much product) so I wish it were wider and more shallow, but it’s absolutely not a deal breaker. With the coconut oil, the balm melts easily on contact making it easy to apply but it doesn’t feel greasy.

There are 9 scents to choose from and they come in a variety of products like body butter and a traditional perfume. They also carry a range of skin care that I’ll be excited to try soon!
