Birchbox August 2014

Birchbox is here! If you aren’t familiar with Birchbox, it’s a monthly subscription box that is a flat rate of $10 (including shipping in the US). For that price, you get 4-5 deluxe size beauty samples delivered to your door every month! I rejoined Birchbox a few months ago and have been loving it so far! Last month, Birchbox launched a new level of customization to their boxes by letting subscribers select one of the items that would be included in their box. They brought that back this month PLUS there was an option for a special curated box that you would already know the contents of. I went with the curated box because it had a few products in it I couldn’t say no to!

The box I selected what The EveryGirl box. This box is full of products that all retail under $35. I love the concept, but that really didn’t have anything to do with why I nabbed this one.

Here is a look at the inside of my box! Nice sized samples and a good range of products for hair, skin, body and a makeup product (inside the pillow box). I really enjoy a little of everything in a subscription box. I’m a head-to-toe kinda girl!

The product that sold me this box was this Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub. This stuff is the BOMB. I’m addicted to this product. It gets ride of dead skin cells, it hydrates and it just leaves my skin feeling so absolutely amazing. This is obviously an organic product and it’s cruelty free, too! This is a sample value of $3.75

This brand was completely new to me, but it sounded delicious. This is an exclusive scent/flavor to Birchbox from Not Soap Radio. From looking at their site, a lot of their names have funny little puns like this one. The scent, as you might have guessed, is lemon but it’s also sweet and super calming. I adore this body wash. This is a sample value of $1.76

The last thing loose in my box was this No. 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect spray. I’ve had this sample before. It smells great, it works well on my hair. For me, I already have a hair primer that I really enjoy. I’m probably just not a fair judge for that reason. Would I recommend this. I would. It is light enough to thin or fine hair and that is hard to find in the hair market. This is a sample value of $4.80

The pillow box this month was especially cute 🙂

Inside, I found a small sample of Hello by Harvey Prince. I REALLY loved this scent and I’ve almost used this completely up. I’m about 80% committed to purchasing the full size, I just know I have a lot of perfumes I need to finish out! This is a sample value of $1.62

The last item in my box was a bit of a let down. I own this product already and one of the great things about this product is the twisting up of the products. The mini of this product is small but somehow, Birchbox got a sample even smaller! This doesn’t even have a twisting mechanism, you have to squeeze the product out which is really difficult when you’re trying to get a nice, even cat eye. Love the product, hate this sample. This is a $1.80 sample value.

While the value of this Birchbox was technically on the lower end at just over $15, I got some products that I absolutely adore and I have already used and enjoyed all of these!  Really happy with my choice to get this box this month!
